I’m in the market for a new cordless drill. Having burned out a Ryobi (motor let the magic smoke out) and worn out a Skill (clutch starting to slip), I’m looking for something that won’t die on me and that can be repaired when it breaks. I’ve read all of your reviews here, and they’re all overwhelmingly positive. All of the drills reviewed are great, with no real faults. That’s not all that helpful in making a decision. Also, none of them include information on the manufacturer’s long term support for their tools. I’m ditching the Skill because parts are not available from Skill to fix it, even though the model I have is still currently available.

Hi David, thanks for your feedback.

The reason why most of the drills on my site have good reviews is because I was trying to only review the ones that are actually worth buying. If I found a drill to not be that great, I just scratched it off the list and didn’t want to write a whole article on something that isn’t worth purchasing. There’s tons of different drills out there so I wanted to have this site just be an all-in-one resource for the best drills.

I do understand where you’re coming from though with it possibly being overwhelming to choose just 1 drill when I have 10 on here that all appear to be good. They are all good in their own way so you need to first determine which type exactly you’re looking for. Do you need a hammer drill, a driver, or just a basic cordless drill? Also, how much power do you need it to have? Once you determine that, I can help you decide on a good drill.

I would say that the most popular cordless drills on my site though are the Panasonic EY6432GQKW, the Makita BDF452HW, or the Makita BHP452.

Try checking out those 3 and see if they fit what you need.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,

    Jim

P.S. I didn’t even realize I forgot to mention the manufacturer’s warranty in my reviews. Sorry about that. I will definitely go back and add all that in though. Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)
