It’s as if you have four tools in one, which allows you to complete a variety of jobs much quicker than if you had to use several different tools. Combining an impact driver, hammer drill, driver, and drill into one tool is not easy, but Makita has done it. This tool can do almost anything, including driving lag bolts, driving screws with clutch settings, and drilling into various materials, such as concrete, wood, metal, and plastic.
No matter if you’re a professional or simply a DIY-er, you cannot go wrong with the Makita BTP140. It packs 1,240 in.lbs. of max torque with its 4-pole motor, has 16 different clutch settings, and two different speed options (0-700 RPM and 0-2,300 RPM).
If you’re drilling into concrete and masonry, this drill puts out 0-27,600 blows per minute (BPM), which is extremely powerful. However, the less powerful impact mode delivers 0-3,200 BPM so that you do not break any screws.

Packing a ton of power into a compact design, this drill is both unique and extremely efficient. “This has GOT to be the finest impact driver that I have ever used and owned. It came with the hammer drill/driver as a package which made it an ever better deal at my local big name home store. Makita continues to set the standard in power and performance with the BTP 140 in the Xrp model. The new Li-on battery technology gave me a good feeling that I was not going to have to buy another expensive throw away battery that you often find the yellow competitors forcing you to do when they die after a few charging cycles. Nothing has ever felt so comfortable and yet powerful in my grasp. You will not need gloves to ensure you have a secure grip because of the rubberized palm backing. It is extremely well balanced and light. Way lighter than anything I have ever used and it is still an 18volt. The 3 amp hour power band allows a consistent trigger feel to the piece you are working on while you apply power. There is no learning curve to “get the feel” so there was no stripping out screw heads or breaking off bolt heads. I have done my homework regarding the Makita brand and I can be assured that I believe all of them to be spot on in their statement that Makita is the best of the battery tools out there. I agree and I am not an easy sell. In fact, I am usually the guy that all the bad things happen to in that “broad instance”. I don’t get that feeling out of this set that I bought from Makita. ”
